We’ve noticed everyone has taken a liking to talking about the race. So we’re giving you a place to do that, and just that.

Feel free to use this area to discuss anything and everything about the Little 500 — Qualifications, Spring Series, the race itself.

Please, no character attacks. Trash-talking is great, but slandering people isn’t. Let’s keep it clean. Or your post will be deleted.

  1. Fun facts:
You ‘win’ Jersey Night by wearing the best Jordan Bailey costume.

The track fence is made from confiscated bolt-on-type skewers from illegal quals wheels.

IUSF was originally created to research the viability of cinder dust as a chemical weapon

IUSF can fine you for not wearing a helmet, but only if they can catch you.

One popular strategy during the race involves positioning oneself near the back of the pack to get the best powerups

  2. Top 5 People that will be missed in the Little 500 this year:
    1) Trevor “Erik” Schwedland: I hope your meniscus is healed fully. Also is that hair natural or is that mostly product?
    2) Hannah Coppens: Gone but not forgotten???
    3) James Welch: I would mustache that ass. Your sponsored extracurriculars (Memorial Beer & Ice mile) will hopefully live on this year.
    4) Sydney Keaton: Just like Saturday’s, you were for the boys
    5) Joe Krauhulik: Cum back please, but also you have Kristen, you won already.

  3. Glad to see you all again this year. If you’re feeling even mildly competitive with your summer tans and newfound love of margaritas, come to wednesday worlds.

    • Hope that worlds inflates your ego enough so when the real racing starts you don’t get hurt too much by the legit riders

  4. When you see “Trevor” riding with the Cutters on a training ride on 465… what a shit show to bring back 5th years to win again. Whatever dudes

  5. Noble Guyon (Guion?) wins the 2/3’s at Gateway, Eric Schwedland still at IU in Kelley to do a 5th yr, and a 14th trophy on the way. Thats a wrap.

  6. Official: Kappa Alpha Theta will not be riding in the little 500 this year, stating that they will be instead training to win 5k charity event runs. One rider specifically stated that, “Little 5 is not vegan friendly, therefore I will take my talents to go run the Tofu Turkey fun-run during thanksgiving”. There you have it folks, no yellow jersey this year in the women’s field but hey, theta said its “For the Kids” so it must be a good cause.

    • Beta Sig over teams like Beta, FIJI, Forest, SigEp, and PhiDelt? I haven’t seen much of them to know if they are the real deal or if you are trolling.
SAE and Sig Chi are only returning one legit rider each. SigEp are returning two top 5 ITTers with race experience in Settle and Harris. SigEp deserves to at least be above SAE and Sig Chi and probably Phi Psi too.

  7. 1. Patriots
    2. Gray Bulls (Gray Goat/BKB combination team)
    3. Sweet Potato Club
    5. Ryan Knapp on a Bird Scooter
    6. The TV sponsor we used to have for the race
    7. 3PH
    8. The one IUSF infield judge that isn’t asleep
    9. Every Phi Delt Alumni whose name is Rob Lee
    10. The Jorts guy from rookie skills clinics

  8. When’s the last time the Little 500 Race Director rode a bike?

It would be good to hear she’s attending her beloved and mandatory (for Fall requirements) Wilcox Rides.

  9. Is any body planning to try at fall series this year? Or is it just going to BKB circle jerking at cyclocross again? If nobody else ever tries they need to get rid of quals times incentives

    • Agreed. Maybe it seemed like a good idea at the time, but if no one is taking advantage or cares get rid of it, or make it more important.

  10. Coppens and Langley = the spartan brand applesauce compared to Kristen Bignal and Joe K. Good try coppens, you wanted a Ferrari, you got a 2014 Toyota Camry with 35,000 miles on it.

    • Whatever beef you have with Langley is between you and him, but that was a God awful attempt at an insult. Do you have a gofundme I could donate to for you to learn better jabs?

Also, I thinking being fuel efficient is more important than being a Ferrari in cycling. Basically gave the guy a compliment. Another fail…

      • This whole post is irrelevant. Bears aren’t a contending team nor does anyone care about them, I am sorry but its true. Caleb will have a good spring but as a team, just no. Its Cutters again or Sigep with the Tommy Setts/Bennie punch, and BKB still a favorite.

  11. Hey guys. Did you all see the note on new rider rules from Andrea? She said she is going to implement a new system where an IUSF member follows you to each of your courses to make sure you are attending every class. Missed lectures are a 2-second race day penalty and missed exams cost a race team rider’s firstborn child. Also, she mentioned anyone wearing a mismatched cycling kit at the track will be fined $25 for poor taste.

I’m not sure how to feel about these.

  16. There’s only a few takeaways I have from fall series.
    – Xavier is still fast
    – Bears are a scary team
    – 3PH has reloaded and retooled
    – Gray Goat has the most depth in the field
    – Theta will have a down year without a superstar like Brown to save them
    – Ski should be one of the women’s favorites this year. Ivy went on a tear this weekend
    – DG has the best depth with a comparable superstar to Ski so I would put them as the co-favorite
    – TPA is the most intriguing team in the field. Obviously have a superstar and CB in the pit and we’ve seen what he can do with 1 stud. Rest of the team didn’t really show up to CX but have all year to get them strong enough to sprint Camplain

    • Okay GUY,

      1. Xavier isn’t fast. probably another one of the multiple chip malfunctions from the weekend or him pulling his IUSF strings to get seconds taken off his ITT time.
      2. Bears are only scary in the wild, NOT on the little 5 track
      3. 3PH had nothing to rebuild so thats false
      4. lmao thats a funny joke about GG
      5. “down year” for theta still probably means podium
      6. many people are saying SKI had motors in their bikes all weekend
      7. DG is only still relevant cus Coppens thinks her boo is worth staying an extra semester for
      8. Never doubt CB

  17. Top Tier:
    CUTTERS
    Lower Top:
    BKB, Gray Goat^,
    Upper Middle:

    Middle:

    Lower Mid:
    PhiDelt, Sae*, Sigma Chi
    *Indicates Cease and Desist
    ^Indicates rising team

  18. Men’s fall series results = 10 of these teams have a chance to win if they have a strong winter, avoid crashes, stay healthy, eat veggies, and ride a perfect race.

    • ski could be good but Ivy is a self-destructing time bomb. One thing goes wrong and that girl spins out of control, Meghan built that program and did a damn good job but the Carrico will have to handle Ivy somehow in order for that team to actually do something. C’mon Kirkham.

      • Whoever you are, you’re a shameful sad person for saying that about Ivy or anyone else for that matter. You should apologize and delete your comment if you have any sense of decency.

    • DO U REALISTICALLY THINK 10 TEAMS CAN WIN THIS YEAR?? THE ONLY TEAMS W/ A CHANCE ARE CUTTERS, BKB, BEARS, GG, and SIGEP. I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW WHO ELSE YOU HAVE W/ A SHOT

      • I agree with 2Legit – Jetblach is strong, but so is Phi Psi. I think SigEp and 3PH are overrated in a lot of these posts, but we’ll see come spring. DChi also looking strong. Problem with saying only a few teams have a shot is you stop paying attention to certain teams who might have the fitness to prevent a sprint finish with a breakaway. Phi Psi definitely a big one to watch out for on this… they seem to be 5 strong at the moment (considering Wes can recover and make a healthy comeback by spring sometime or earlier).

      • LOL “Jetblach.”
It’s funny seeeing who on this site really pays attention. Jetblach will be irrelevant this year when they ultimately crash again and cant get the lap back because the race wont be the slowest race in years. Last years top 5 finish was an utter fluke- believe that. Nobody in the pack is scared of a breakaway effort of 2:36 ITTers.
Also if your definition of a deep team is merely having riders than i guess phi psi qualifies as being deep… but so does everyone else. LOL There fall series consisted of nothing but bottom half ITTs and poor bike handling

      • The only time Dchi will ever be relevant is when they become the CUTTERS again

        Nuff Said,

  19. Excited to see some actual racing again this spring. Don’t think any team wants to sprint it out with CUTTERS again with Noble on the bike. Think GG and Sigep have the depth to attempt a breakaway and actually stay away. Ep has Settle and Harris and you know they can recruit. GG has 3 riders returning from last year + young talent. Don’t think BKB is going to have the firepower to break away but with Xavier + Knapp, they’ve got 1 big breakaway move that could stick. Just think the Ep train will be able to bring that back or go with them

    • Noble Guyon is potentially leaving the Cutters to ride for HB Axeon immediately after they lost one of their sprinters to UAE, article leaked on twitter before they had it removed. Will post link once I find it.

  20. 2019 Top Mens ITT Returnees

    1 Martinez – BKB – SR – 2:19
    2 Harris – Sig Ep – SR – 2:22
    3 Settle – Sig Ep – SR – 2:22
    4 Guyon – Cutters – JR – 2:23
    5 Thompson – 3PH – JR – 2:24
    6 Jaggard – Beta – SR – 2:25
    7 Fiore – Sig Chi – JR – 2:25
    8 Langley – Bears – SR – 2;25
    9 Schmahl – Jetblach – SR – 2:26
    10 Sullivan – Sig Chi -SR – 2:26

    17 Huibregtse – Cutters – JR – 2:28
    18 Coulter – Cutters – JR – 2:28

Apologize in advance for errors or omissions….

As always, look for second year riders to make the biggest leaps in performance.

  21. It’s alway funny to me, people disrespecting other teams. I’m betting your team wasn’t in the final sprint last year and GREAT JOB to all those that were. if you think Phi Psi won’t be a factor this year, “You’re an idiot “, if you think any CB team was a fluke, “You’re about to be had” I bet people said the same thing in 2012 and 2016. Phi Psi is my pick to win, No way Jetblach will not be a top 5 team, just history and probability.

  22. Sig Ep is the most overrated team I’ve seen on this board. Settel will have another top 5 ITTfinish and make the MNO finals, but rumor has it Harris spends more time at Roys then he does on his bike nowadays. Couple that with the returning raceday member they didn’t actually race because he was THAT big of a liability and a rookie who ate it in the street sprints warm up, I think Settel will need to pull a 2016 delts move and put the team on his back (and PEDs)

  23. Thoughts… Xavier looks to have gotten back a partner in Strobel. Both looked really strong during fall series. Krahulik deserves a full team before he graduates. Andrew LaValle went a 3:11 for 97th out of 99…. phi psi guys ride annoyingly slow in itt’s. Wes’ injury hurts. There’s no reason Jetblach can’t show out again. Oehler has good support guys again this year. Gray Goat is a rollers team and it showed well, nice itt starts too. Logan looks legit. I must be in the minority for thinking Settle and Harris can pull SigEp to a decent finish. Bears is a wildcard. Cutters is not a lock this year. And sigchi probably won’t be vacaying in Florida for training trip

    • Krahulik is possibly the most overrated rider in the field aka the Holtkamp of 2019. He can do 4 solo laps decently fast but he has zero sprint in his legs. His draft is so massive that anyone can follow everyone move he makes. He knew what he was getting into when he joined a team carried by Joe instead of a competitive team. People pretend he is the second coming of Joe but the only similarity between is last name. Have fun partying at your frat before its kicked because thats all sae has going for them

      • Lol good guess but try again. And thanks for the input, I’ll make sure to remember it this spring! And BTW his name is Buck. Cheers.

  24. This is asking a lot for 33to1, but I think we can all agree this year’s bike design looks like someone on RC was inspired by an old red and white tube sock.

    • IUSF has a team of ex-drug testing lab monkeys they give buckets of chrome, black, white, and red paint to help them brainstorm design ideas.
