Discussion Room

We’ve noticed everyone has taken a liking to talking about the race. So we’re giving you a place to do that, and just that.

Feel free to use this area to discuss anything and everything about the Little 500 — Qualifications, Spring Series, the race itself.

Please, no character attacks. Trash-talking is great, but slandering people isn’t. Let’s keep it clean. Or your post will be deleted.

  1. Just learned from a trusted source that Conor Furlong collects squishmallows…. maybe y’all should be sleeping on Beta Sig

  2. if SAE laps the field, then BKB, Delts, Sig Ep, and Cutters work together to reel them back. Those gamma boys only have enough fuel in the tank to gain the lap but not hold it. Also, don’t sleep on Forest. Heard they have some solid recruits this year. Let’s talk women’s field. Where is Theta now? The decline is coming for them. Who is going to win, i’ll tell you who. Teter, this is their year. I have insight on the new race director, let’s just say you all know him. He graduated recently. That’s it for now. Torin signing out.

  3. Way too early race predictions: Men’s Edition.

#1 BKB: Is it just me or do they have the “stuff” again this year? Not a lot to say here. Monster miles coming out of their top two riders. Do they these guys do anything other than ride? Jordan Bailey has proved he can get them to the top step. Easily favorites to repeat and their race to lose IMO.

#2 SAE: Who’s going to stop BKB? All signs point to Naas Bros & Co. Luke is easily the best athlete in the field and he has two stellar riders next to him. Once his Thursdays at Sports are over, he’s all eyes on the race. Surely their coach can learn from last year’s mistakes. Expect them to race with guts and more firepower.

#3 Cutters: These guys aren’t that cool and really don’t have swagger, but one word comes to mind every time-“Juggernaut”. This is a win year for the faces of the race. Judah is most gifted racer in the field and he has enough help to get to the end of the race. This team isn’t going to win a sprint. Some things will need to go right for them to launch of the front. Being well coached, the chaos SAE is expected to cause might give them the camouflage to make their race winning move.

#4 Sig Ep: Is anyone surprised here? They are no stranger to the podium and their historically run a clean race. Expect this team to be in the race until the very end. They always have a quiet fall. Who knows what they’re up to? Between running RC, throwing lame parties, and wiping their ass with SRAM, we know they will field a competitive team. Expect them to make a hard run at the podium.

#5 Delta Tau Delta: Rounding out the top 5 is Delts. These guys party, these guys ride, these guys go to class. Do they do any of them at the top level? No, but they do them all pretty good, and that’s probably good enough for a top 5 this year. They will field a gritty team that hangs on when the race gets tough.

    Honorable mention

#6 Phi Delta Theta: Similar to Sig Ep, they’re well-coached and race smart but don’t have firepower or top riders. Similar to Delts but less gritty, these guys all over the place. KOK? Yeah. Upstairs? Yeah. Their girlfriend’s house? You bet. As of now they’re an underperforming squad of 3 seniors. If they figure out how to get on their bikes more, they’re definitely a team to watch out for.

  4. Yea IUSF, if you’re reading this… it’s too late. Last year’s broadcast sucked almost as much as Novus men’s. There is so much work to be done, color choice = unpleasant. Why do the placement’s rotate? I don’t care if Americana is still in 33rd, 57 laps behind the leaders. I am sorry, just playing y’all but fr let’s be better next year.

  5. people in little 5 who I would like to observe through a camera locked in a room together with for 24 hours and nothing to do:

    -Judah Thompson and Kate Dimmett
    -Pete and Gavin goode
-drew miller and Claire from rideon

    -delts and Becker
-anyone on sig ep and Evelyn morris
    -Luke naas and mau
    -Allison woz and Conor furlong
    -gus

  6. my 2025 race bingo card:

    • Rhys Ivory Ganja cameo
    • Delts altitude sickness CURED by HIGH TECH med TENT in RECORD time
    • DJ half track on aux
    • Kerem laps the field (real highlight reel moment)
    • Phi Delt wins if it snows on race day
    • 9am club in the SAE water bottles (performance enhancing drug)
    • Trump executive order against DGBT (he read it as LGBT)
    • rumor has it BKB, Cutters, and Teter are taking rear hubs off of the Nishiki Pueblos at Walmart and using those for their race day build

    • Not Teter… their team dynamic is in the gutter and some of them look like they don’t even wanna ride

Can’t say for sure now, but no team chemistry = no win

      • Yeah, I heard they’re not even doing the traditional piercings but I’m down to check (6’5 guy btw)

      • Definitely DG, they have the legacy and they’re due for a win. Kappa Alpha Theta is an obvious choice returning most of last year’s team. Novus will be one to watch with the top ITT finish and a large team as well.

Though a historically strong program, Teter did graduate at least 2 girls from last year’s team and seems like none of their current riders are competitive with the field. Would be surprised if they’re in contention.

    • two of the girls on novas are dating😭 if they were ever a threat they aren’t now cause what kind of team let’s that happen

      • I heard Dorothy pretends to date Will Wagner as a cover up because she is actually in a throuple with Bea and Ada and thats why they always share a bike in single bike exchange to be closer to each other because they are in love

      • I heard Dorothy pretends to date Will Wagner as a cover up because she is actually in a throuple with Bea and Ada and thats why they always share a bike in single bike exchange to be closer to each other because they are in love

  7. Triathlete and Iron Man runner Shay Patheja is classed at cat 1 but is still somehow allowed to ride. How is this allowed. How can you just sneak a rider in like that. If he competed in non triathlon races he’d probably be classed at domestic pro.

  8. novus men’s needs to stop doing 8 man zone 3 pacelines on the inside. Mf’s caused two crashes in a week, yall are retarded

  9. Teter literally had vodka in their bottles at the track today, they might as well give up and keep partying. Stumbling at the track is a bad look…

  10. Sources (aka the guy who sits behind me in econ) confirm BKB’s new training regimen involves riding to Kilroy’s and back — but only during snowstorms for that extra resistance training. SAE, meanwhile, has adopted a bold strategy of “carb loading” exclusively with keg beer and queso from Taco Bell.

Rumor has it Cutters are considering a revolutionary “don’t stop pedaling” tactic this year — truly groundbreaking stuff.

Also, shoutout to Phi Delt for innovating with those Walmart Nishiki Pueblo hubs — I hear they save at least three seconds per lap if you ignore the fact that they explode at turn three.

This year’s Little 500 is shaping up to be less of a bike race and more of a reality show — and honestly, I’m here for it.

    • Word on the street is Beta Sig has been experimenting with fixed-gear beach cruisers — slower, yes, but imagine the intimidation factor of getting passed by a guy ringing a handlebar bell.

    • I’ve heard from the press that Cinzano and Phi Psi have officially formed a coalition to continue supporting SAE in their efforts to lap the field. With this strengthened partnership, they aim to reach 98 laps away from the field and position themselves to challenge Chi Alpha in a sprint finish

  11. if I ever see sterchie biking on the road I’m just fucking running him over I can’t take any more of those cringe videos.

    • Challenging Sterchi to do an FTP test and not make a cringe reel about it for one day (NOT CLICKBAIT)

He couldn’t do it (NOT CLICKBAIT)
