    • It’s unfortunate for teams that were unable to stay in Bloomington this past week. It’s hard to dial in those exchanges when there are only four days of track time left. I expect it to be a long day for the teams that have to qualify late.

      • I wondered as well about teams that went away and missed out on a solid week of track time. I imagine a week of track time over Spring Break is equivalent to almost 2 regular weeks. Way back when the track was not open over break. Not sure when that changed but it seems like a very good idea.

  1. Who are the top 5 teams in M & W races? Any clear cut favs? Will cutters come out of the closet & be changing their name back to Delta Chi for good luck?

  2. Womens favorites: Kappa, A chi O, Theta, DG, and Phi Mu
Mens favorite: Phi Delts, Beta, Delts, SNU, Lamda X,

Geed teams this year look pretty weak.

    • Sleeping HARD on BkB and Cutters

Cutters are returning 3 riders and BkB was super deep last year

Even if they aren’t your pick to win, putting SNU and LXA ahead of them is nuts

(Pizza on the roof of my mouth scorching hot fire flames new kits from Lambda though!)

      • Hashtag… It seems obvious that “Frat” is trolling and knows that Cutters and BKB in particular look strong this year. BKB could probably place 2 teams in the top few rows with their depth. Impresive that BKB retains riders who will not get a chance to race but would be a top 1 or 2 rider for many other teams.

      • Old.. trolling is pretty common around here. One of the side effects of anonymous commenting.
I’m glad we have a forum to talk about the race and since there hadn’t been much mention of “geed teams” other than looking pretty weak, I thought I’d mention why they are still in the conversation.

Looking forward to our anchorman-style brawl with FRAT behind the bleachers on the back stretch though!

    • you’ve clearly underestimated BKB and CUTTERS. CUTTERS has this race figured out and somehow manage to field highly competitive teams year after year despite not always recruiting the most talented athletes (ex: lusk, patches, nixon, depasse #2), and after having guys like thiery and Pilipiszyn in their pipeline for 2-3 years now, they’ve molded a new set of contenders. way more confidence in CUTTERS than Beta or Delts. BKB is a younger team without the knowledge and experience of CUTTERS, but they’ve somehow managed to build a solid program that’s somehow managed to qual top 3 every year in the last three years, and never finish outside of the top 10, even with an all-rookie team their first year.

i see SAE really stepping it up this year with Dan Burns at the helm and the brothers Krahulik taking the track together. If the younger one turns out anything like Andy, they’ll be unstoppable even with scrub 3 and 4 riders. The depth of Phi Delts, BKB, and CUTTERS won’t be enough to shake SAE with those two guys. Torrance and the rookie kid from Zionsville will keep Ep in the race, but they’ll be gassed and unable to hang when the punches fly at the end of the race. Beta is a mystery here, because they really came out of nowhere last year and had something to prove, but since they’re the ones that screwed the rest of the field over, will the quest for redemption aid or hinder their chances this year? Only Eric Anderson and John Grant, while holding each other in a non-sexual embrance, could tell us

with that in mind, i predict CUTTERS are underestimated by the field and whip it out in the finale for a convincing victory ahead of Phi Delts, who remain at the mercy of the Curse. BKB will ride a strong race to finish top 5, with SAE and Sig Ep rounding out the top 5. Beta will have a strong race only to wipe out on an exchange with 2 to go and once again take themselves out of contention.

on the women’s side, Tabitha. ’nuff said.

      • SAE will shake themselves when they get dropped by exchanging off the pack of a 2 team chase group again, or get penalized cause the coach is standing in the middle of the track shouting orders at his riders.

      • Is #risingfromthecinders that heavy of favorites?
They’re going to need someone other than Tabitha to carry some of the load if they want to stay on the lead lap this year. It’s not a one woman race!

      • @#Quads haven’t heard her story, fill us in? I would say that XO’s situation last year showed you need more than the best rider to succeed

      • @#Quads want to just tell us since I don’t think I’ll be picking that up at blockbuster anytime soon?
I can use my imagination though, she probably rode like 80 laps and won the race. I still don’t think that would work this year

  3. We all know it comes down to who has the best hair and I think it’s safe to say that Rob Lee wins there. That flow is immaculate

  4. BKB is garbage the only chance they have is if Broccoli rides less than 50 laps and there’s no chance that happens with his inexperienced support. PDT is deep and very consistent year after year. It’s Rob’s time to shine on the podium and it really shouldn’t be a surprise after his early success and improvements over the year. #fratbois

    • Romo will be better than Ron Lee. Works much harder, I also see Ron at sports on thursdays nights dancing with a 2 or a 3 at best… and romo does have better hair honestly.

      • Bob Lee Swagger has flowsauce unmatched by any mere mortal.
I think you might just be jealous of his dance moves

    • When you look at a rider like Rob Lee, you notice his outstanding frame. He’s really got the legs to give his competitors a punishing. He’s of course had success in years past, and this, in what may be his final year on the circuit with the Phi Delta Theta team, is his last chance at the yellow jersey. Had the great pleasure of calling him this summer on the road. He’s a tremendous talent.

    • Precisely, I thought he was brilliant last year. He never looked like he was in difficulty at all. Last year was a legendary race. A rider like Steven, I actually believe will have to be the favorite for the individual time trial. We would hope he’s learned from his mistakes, and this should the year that he will wear yellow.

  5. Delts are not even going to finish on the lead lap this year without their one man team known as Paul Smith. Momper is all talk and the rest of their team is irrelevant

  6. ^^^^^^^That couldn’t be a truer statement! Delts get beat by Cru and Phi Sig this year. Also, PDT is going to tramp stamp everyone’s mothers after they win the race. It’ll be a massacre #gutcheck

    • What a derogatory remark! I’m gonna find out ago you are, get a lawyer on my side and sue your ass until you’re standing at the exit ramp of I-69 into Bloomington with a cardboard sign.

  7. IF i am not a top 15 in ITT does that make me a shitty rider? I know we didnt qual last year, but we busting a 2:30 come Saturday

  8. My son was so courageous when that mean frat boy tried to hurt my Brian. Go Cutters!!!

    *Please don’t impersonate me anymore.

    • Will Kevin be there????

J/K ofcourse he will he sits at a desk all day. it’ll be the most exciting thing he does all month!

      • Now now Mr. Batman, be nice to my lovely Kevin, not everyone can fight crime all the time. My son will be there Saturday cheering on the his younger brother!! I’m so proud of my two boys!!! GO CUTTERS!!!!

    • Nobody cares Wright. Most half decent teams can put up a good quals time when the track is in near perfect condition with no wind.

      • wright has come a long way in the past few years even before Woj took over. turned lemons into contenders is not easy. bold prediction: Wright will ride a strong race, staying with the lead group and throwing down a misguided attack with Beta, with Beta crashing themselves out of contention and Wright suffering from premature ejaculation and burning out 8 laps short of the finish

  10. The very first time Wright finished on the lead lap was 2014 when they came back from a crash. 2008 and 2013 they finished a respectable 7th and 10th place but were 1-2 minutes behind the leaders. Every other year they were multiple laps down. They will probably be top 8-9 this year and could be there if the race is slow.

  11. Wright very easily is the loudest team on the track. Their calls for INSIDE never go unnoticed. This surely indicates race day success.

      • Wright is so strong…. Woj will advocate for sitting in the entire race and trying to win a sprint with RJ Thomas. Not a bad idea, but for sure they’ll get caught in a crash or get dropped altogether.

  12. The future- I don’t think you realize that if you use the same email address the blue icon is the same even with different “names”. So way to post about wright under 3 separate names. Learn to anonymous troll better bro.

  13. Wow. What an unexpected line up. Track conditions were really a disadvantage to teams that’s went early. Some top teams are way lower than expected. I wonder how this will bode for early race crashes?

    • I agree. Pike and Evan scholars won’t be able to hang for three laps. Going to be dicy at the start until those teams fall to the back. Where they belong

  14. Was the end lineup really that much of a surprise considering the actual contenders were only going sub 2:30 in practice quals. Wright, Sig phi and Evans Scholars will all be popped within the first 125 laps. #nobasemiles

  15. Did you see my wonderful son Brian qualify in fourth place? I’m so happy!!! My son’s beard reminds me a strong Viking man!! GO CUTTERS!!!

  16. Going to be a pretty crazy first few laps this year.

Looking for Beta (17th) and FIJI (20th) to be scrambling up early.

  17. Wow. Some surprises yesterday, especially on the womens side. Looks like Theta is throwing down the gauntlet to defend their title and DG’s getting back into the fight. Surprised that AXO and Teter didn’t get better results.

  18. My extraordinary son Brian had such a good race at ITTs. I was so impressed!!! I could tell his legs were tired during the third lap, but he kept pedaling so hard!!!! GO BRIAN!! GO CUTTERS!!!!

    xoxoxoxo,
    Mrs. Depasse

  19. I just can’t wait for Miss N Out!!! Hopefully the mean fraternity boys are nice to me 🙂 Go Cutters!!!!!!

    XOXOXOXOX,
    Mrs. Depasse

  20. MNO this weekend! It is hard to not pick one of the beta bros for the win on Saturday after both Craig and Knight made it to the finals last year AND both went 2:20 in ITTs. On the women’s side it will go to one of the five Thetas that make the finals, probably Liz though.

I am so glad my mother does not post about me all the time, how embarrassing…

  21. Look for Rob Lee, Andy Krahuliuk, and Spencer Brauchlau to perform well Saturday. Tough to see anyone but Lieberman winning MNO. It’ll be interesting to see how Theta plays the race this year. 2012 and 2013 they have the top rider and lead the sprint out and get rolled on in the sprint. 2014 with not the top rider they sit in and end up winning the race. I wonder what their finishing strategy will be considering that recent history of leading out/sitting in.

  22. Women’s race will be cray this year. Anyone else think Teter is sandbagging?? It has been years since they haven’t won the white jersey and entered the race as a favorite. Both their quals and ITT performances were sub par for a perennially strong team where the training/coaching hasn’t changed. I would not put it past Woj to have his girls deliberatly not do well simply to enter the race under the radar, that man loves to scheme.

    • Maybe I don’t know Woj that well, but I’d be shocked if that was their strategy.
I would guess it’s more about them graduating two riders and dealing with that transition, along with
being a little psyched out about their quals position. Those girls know how to race and I’m still expecting Teter to be among the 4-5 teams that will be neck and neck this year

      • Teter will be just fine. A pretty underwhelming start to the spring, but they have too many solid riders not to finish well in the race. It might be tough for them to win though.

  23. “I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled poets to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean.”

    – Socrates

OMG YOU GUYS WHAT A NERD BOOO!!! BOOOOO!!!

  24. Any idea whats going on with Joe L? he is clearly better than that Johnny kid and that boy named Soood . why was he not riding quals and dropping from the ITT? another trick up Andersons sleeve? With out Joe Beta is a mid-tier team, at best.

  25. A big shout out to IUSF for eliminating one of the top 3 riders from Beta and Cutters via the MnO bracket before the event even starts. Or maybe Bailey is just helping BKB into white. While it also happens to Northwest Indiana Cycling, 3PH and Sig EP, it is the Betas who are at a distinct disadvantage, being tied with BKB going into the event.

Looking at Heats 18 & 20 (Heats 2 & 4 for the Cutters). If the three riders from the one team all advance to heat 42 (Heat 34 for the Cuttters), only 2 riders from that heat advance to heats 52 and 50 respectively. Less opportunity to advance means less opportunity to score points.

Under Pam, the brackets were initially created by the spreadsheet and then she looked for things like this that had to be manually adjusted. It seems that fairness left with Pam.

Can’t someone (BKB?) step up and insist that there is a level playing field.

    • Yeah!

You forgot to mention that under his reign of terror, he eliminated gunners from the judging process. You used to be able to ride on the high side and not be noticed by the judges who were situated on the infield. Now all of the judging is done by a computer. Using computers for bracket creation and judging is so biased. What an asshole!

      #BringBackPam #FireJB

    • GRIEVANCE:

At Quals, after we elected to take our time off the board and then subsequently dropped two exchanges, Bailey wouldn’t let us take a 4th attempt to qualify. IUSF needs to hire someone to make it a level playing field. Doesn’t he realize that we have qualified for every single Little 500?

      • You get 3 attempts, if you opted to go again your early one counted as an attempt, It was made very clear. Unfortunately, just because you have been in every race is irrelevant.
